This policy explains what personal data we collect through vipdesign.ae (the "Site") and our showroom, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the rights you have under UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the "PDPL") and, where applicable, other data-protection laws.
1. What we collect
Information you give us
- Enquiries and sourcing requests — name, phone or WhatsApp number, email, the cars or brands you are interested in, budget range, timeline and any notes you add.
- Sell-your-car valuations — your contact details plus details of the vehicle (make, model, year, mileage, specification, colour, condition, accident history, expected price) and any photographs you upload.
- Purchases and sales — where a transaction proceeds we collect what UAE law requires to transfer a vehicle: Emirates ID or passport details, driving licence, proof of address, payment and banking details, and vehicle registration documents. These are collected in person or by secure channels, not through Site forms.
- Correspondence — messages you send us by phone, WhatsApp, email or social media.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed and approximate location, collected by our hosting provider's standard server logs.
- Embedded services — the Site embeds Google Maps and loads fonts from Google Fonts. These services may collect your IP address and set cookies as described in our Cookie policy and Google's privacy policy.
We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and we do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
2. How we use it and on what basis
- To respond to your enquiry, value your car, source a vehicle for you or arrange a viewing — performance of a contract or steps at your request before entering into one.
- To complete a sale or purchase, including RTA registration transfer, inspection, financing and payment — legal obligation and contract.
- To keep records we are required to keep for tax, anti-money-laundering and consumer-protection purposes — legal obligation.
- To send you updates about a car you asked about, or about similar cars, where you have agreed to be contacted — consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying "stop" or contacting us.
- To keep the Site secure and understand how it is used — legitimate interests.
3. Who we share it with
We never sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Service providers that host the Site and its forms (Netlify, Inc., servers in the United States/EU), messaging providers (Meta Platforms for WhatsApp), and Google (Maps, Fonts). Each acts on our instructions or under its own published privacy terms.
- Transaction partners where you ask us to involve them — banks and finance companies, insurers, the RTA and testing centres, shipping and export agents.
- Authorities when required by UAE law, a court order or to protect our legal rights.
Where data leaves the UAE (for example to our hosting provider) we rely on the transfer safeguards permitted under the PDPL, including contractual protections with the recipient.
4. How long we keep it
- Enquiries and valuation requests that do not lead to a transaction: up to 24 months from last contact, then deleted.
- Transaction records: at least 5 years after the transaction, as required by UAE commercial and tax law.
- Server logs: up to 30 days.
5. Your rights
Subject to the PDPL you may ask us to: access the personal data we hold about you; correct it; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; receive it in a portable format; and withdraw consent to marketing. If you are not satisfied you may complain to the UAE Data Office.
6. Security
Form submissions are transmitted over HTTPS and stored with our hosting provider behind access controls. Inventory administration is password-protected. No method of transmission is completely secure, so please do not send us Emirates ID, passport or bank details through the Site's public forms — we will collect those securely when a transaction proceeds.
7. Changes and contact
